The LUNA PSG high-speed polarization generator comes in various models such as PSG-001, PSG-002, and PSG-2000. Characteristics
PSG-001: Based on the design of a magneto-optic rotator, it can generate 6 polarization states, namely -45°, 0°, 45°, 90°, right circularly polarized (RHC), and left circularly polarized (LHC). The switching speed is less than 250 µs, the polarization state repeatability is better than ±0.1 degree, the wavelength range is 1480-1620 nm or 1260-1340 nm, and it is controlled by 6-bit TTL signals, suitable for Mueller matrix measurement, polarization light time-domain reflection measurement, etc.
PSG-002: It can generate 6 polarization states, with the relative angle accuracy of the SOP being ±5 deg and the repeatability being ±0.1 deg. The switching time is within 40-50 µs. With its high speed and precise polarization state generation capability, it is suitable for sweep frequency measurement and optical imaging applications.
PSG-2000: It can quickly generate up to 6 different polarization states, including left circularly polarized (LCP), right circularly polarized (RCP), ±22.5° linearly polarized, and ±67.5° linearly polarized. The switching time between adjacent two states is usually 50 µs, and the repeatability is less than 0.1 degree. It adopts a new self-locking PSG 4-bit optical head, with predictable wavelength and temperature dependence, easy to calibrate, and suitable for sweep frequency wavelength component measurement systems.
