LUNA PSY-201 is a deterministic polarization controller, which can also function as a polarization synthesizer/analyser. It can generate and maintain any polarization state (SOP), regardless of the input SOP.
Features:
It integrates a polarization controller, a polarization meter, and control algorithms, and can be used as an SOP generator or polarization analyzer. The output SOP can be defined by Stokes parameters and can be manually adjusted to any point on the Poincaré sphere, or optimized for polarization-related measurements. It has quick functions, capable of generating 6 different SOPs (0°, 90°, ±45°, RHC, and LHC) for Mueller matrix calculations. It also supports programmable SOP traces and variable-rate polarization scrambling. Additionally, when the internal polarization controller is disabled, it can function as an online polarization meter to measure the instantaneous SOP and polarization degree (DOP) of the input beam, with a data recording function that allows for long-term measurement of up to 1 billion points of polarization variation.
The wavelength range is 1480-1620nm or 1280-1340nm, with an analog bandwidth of 1 MHz and a sampling rate of up to 4M samples/second. The stable time of the generated SOP is 1ms (stable input SOP), the stability is 0.1° when the input SOP is stable, 0.5° when the input SOP changes <2π/s, and 2° when the input SOP changes <10π/s. The SOP measurement uncertainty is ±0.25° after user calibration, the DOP measurement uncertainty is ±2% after factory calibration, and ±0.5% after user calibration. The polarization extinction ratio (PER) measurement range is 0 to 40 dB, with a resolution of 0.1 dB.
