Santec's optical variable attenuator OVA-100 enables precise optical power control with high precision and excellent repeatability. It can be used as a bench or rack mounted instrument. The OVA-100 is ideal for laboratory and production applications, including power level adjustment in automated test systems, bit error rate testing (BERT) for transceivers, and channel equalization in WDM systems. The OVA-100 attenuator provides repeatability of ± 0.01dB and dynamic range of up to 100 dB (depending on model configuration). The OVA-100 can be controlled via the front panel touchscreen, or remotely via USB and Ethernet. The OVA series of attenuators operate at 1200-1700 nm in single mode and 750-1700 nm in multi-mode. Power monitoring PD can be added to read the power output of the instrument. It can be used to automatically adjust attenuation to obtain a constant customized power level.
