DVM400包括一个强大的计算机平台，具有各种接口和三个插入卡的空间。宽带记录仪和发电机板可以安装在第一个插槽中。一个快速分析仪板，用于其他系统的DVM系列的第二个插槽是可用的。该板允许并行监控多达四个传输流。由于两个板相互独立的功能，约DVM400可以配置为一个纯粹的记录器和生成器或作为一个纯粹的分析仪。如果两个单板都安装了，则可以使用特殊功能。例如，记录的信号可以直接在系统内发送到分析板以供以后分析。或者，如果一个信号被监控，分析板可以直接触发记录器和生成器板执行事件驱动的记录。

The DVM400 includes a powerfulcomputer platform with variousinterfaces and space for three plug-incards. A broadband recorder and generator board can be installed in the firstslot. A fast analyzer board as is used inother systems of the ¸DVM family isavailable for the second slot. This boardallows parallel monitoring of up to fourtransport streams. Since both boardsfunction independently of each other, the¸DVM400 can be configured eitheras a pure recorder and generator or as apure analyzer. If both boards are installed,special features are available. Forexample, a recorded signal can be sentdirectly within the system to the analyzerboard for later analysis. Or, if a signal ismonitored, the analyzer board can directlytrigger the recorder and generator boardto perform event-driven recording.
Both boards support a variety offunctions, some of which are optionallyavailable. The analyzer board allows notonly transport stream monitoring, butalso the analysis of data rates, PCR andPTS values, the interpretation of tablesand packets plus the analysis of diversedata services.
Various test signals are available forthe recorder and generator board. Byusing the Stream CombinerTM software,users can generate their own transportstreams on the ¸DVM400.
