Agilent 86143B is a portable spectral analyzer suitable for 50GHz applications. Agilent 86140B, 86141B, 86142B, 86143B and 86145B are series of raster spectrometers, showing the relationship between wavelength amplitude and wavelength in the wavelength range of 600 to 1700nm. The spectrometer uses a patented dual-pass monochromator design to achieve high sensitivity and large dynamic range with fast scan times. This performance is important for characterizing the characteristics of DWDM components and multiplexing systems, especially in manufacturing environments where speed, accuracy, and productivity are critical factors. The series includes desktop (86140B, 86141B and 86142B) and portable (86143B and 86145B) analyzers, all with a combination printer and floppy disk drive that provide instant measurement results files and transfer electronic copies to a PC. The VGA port allows the PC monitor to connect directly to the spectrum analyzer screen, and the centronics port generates a clear color copy of the measurements. The GPIB interface provides high transfer rates on the bus, which is important in high-throughput environments. The simple and organized front panel is designed to provide an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) that greatly exceeds the previous generation of Agilent 71450 series spectrometers. The interface can be driven from the front panel or from an external pointing device.
