The LDC-3908 8-channel modular mainframe has all the same great features as our popular LDC-3916 16-channel laser diode controller. In fact, the modules are interchangeable between the two instruments. The smaller size and lighter weight of the LDC-3908 make it an ideal instrument for lower channel count applications such as R&D or production test of EDFA and Raman amplifiers. The handle on the front panel and the flip-up feet on the bottom facilitate use on the bench, while the flanges allow easy installation into a standard 19-inch instrument rack. "Smart" modules include a controller module with up to 1.5A laser current source and 9W TEC control, two dual current source modules with up to 1A isolation current, a dual 9W TEC module, a 3A laser current source module and a 3A 24W TEC module. Remote communication via IEEE/GPIB interface simplifies testing and control of multiple devices. LabVIEW® drivers are also available for any combination of mainframes and modules. LabVIEW® Instrument Drivers are freely available and can be downloaded from the Literature and Downloads tab of the mainframe and module product pages.
