The LUNA MMS-201 multi-mode scrambler is a device used to randomize laser speckle patterns in multi-mode optical fibers, making the time-averaged core illumination at the fiber output end more uniform.

Product Function: The speckle patterns generated by multi-mode optical fibers can affect applications that require a uniform and stable light distribution. The MMS-201 solves this problem by high-frequency randomizing multi-mode speckle patterns. When the average time of the camera or detector is greater than 80ms, the output light distribution appears uniform and stable.
- Key Features: It has the characteristics of high speed, high efficiency, low insertion loss, and compactness. The wavelength range is 530-1630nm, the scrambling efficiency is greater than 80% (effective power), the flatness typical value is less than 20%, and the ripple typical value is less than 10%. It uses 50/125µm step-index multi-mode optical fibers, with an insertion loss of ≤1dB (including connectors) at 635nm.
Application Fields: It can be used in DNA sequencing, multi-mode fiber sensing, and the testing and measurement of multi-mode fiber devices, etc., improving the performance of related applications.
