Product Description:
High quality instruments provide high precision results
Anritsu's Signal Quality Analyzer (MP1800A) incorporates a pulse pattern generator (PPG) module that produces the highest quality, highest amplitude signals in the industry, and an error detector (ED) module with the highest available input sensitivity.
The number of channels per MP1800A series PPG or ED module can be selected from 1 channel, 2 channel or 4 channel, supporting multi-channel synchronization, up to 8 channels of 32 Gbit/s. As a result, each channel of AOC, CFP, CXP, QSFP + and other modules can be measured simultaneously, thus conducting crosstalk and skew tolerance evaluation tests.
The MP1800A PPG module provides an output of up to 3.5 Vp-p and supports the evaluation of modulators such as EA and EML. In addition to generating IEEE and ITU-T burst signals and auxiliary signals for evaluating E-PON, G-PON, and 10GE-PON optical modules, the automatic generation of burst data and auxiliary signal output timing can shorten the evaluation time and improve the evaluation quality.
Complete 32G jitter test, one box can restore the clock
With its low intrinsic jitter PPG, 4TAP emphasis, high sensitivity ED, eye-opening compensation equalizer and automatic measurement software, the Anritsu MP1800A is an ideal overall solution for jitter tolerance testing.
Various types of jitter can be generated using the built-in jitter modulation source, such as SJ, RJ, BUJ, SSC. The jitter modulator generates a wide SJ of up to 1 UI at a jitter frequency of 250 MHz, thus ensuring sufficient margin for the receiver jitter tolerance test. In addition, the inherent jitter of 275 fs rms (nominal value) is very low, ensuring accurate measurements even at low jitter amplitudes, not only when the jitter modulation is off, but also when the jitter on is set to 0 UI.
The MP1800A is used in combination with 4Tap enhancements (MP1825B) to generate up to 32.1 Gbit/s of pre-enhancements to high-speed interconnect standards such as CEI-28G, 32G Fibre Channel and InfiniBand EDR (26G). Each tap can be changed independently to ensure accurate preweighting. Placing the instrument as close to the external remote head as possible to the DUT minimizes the impact of signal attenuation due to cable losses and ISI, thus maintaining the highest signal quality at the DUT interface.
The ED module has a high sensitivity of only 10 mV, as well as high-speed automatic adjustment (automatic detection of threshold levels and phase points) of 1 second or less, supporting low output amplitude devices (for example, as AOC). With the Clock Recovery option installed, it is possible to perform pressure chattering tolerance tests for SERDES, as well as BER measurements for clock-free devices such as AOC, using different Tx and Rx clocks in one box.
When used in combination with a high sensitivity ED (MU183040B / 41B), the passive linear equalizer (J1621A/J1622A) can perform BER and chattering tolerance tests on PHY devices with low EYE openings. The equalizer minimizes the impact of high-frequency transmission line distortion by compensating for printed circuit board (PCB) routing losses and improving EYE opening.
Ultra-high speed signal generation and BER measurement
The MP1800A can be configured to use the 4PAM / 8PAM converter (MZ1834A/MZ1838A) to generate the high quality, low S/N, 4PAM and 8PAM data signals required to characterize the high-speed backplane and 400 GbE interface. The BER of three four PAM eye maps can be measured simultaneously. The MP1800A is an ideal platform for accurate BER measurements using four PAM signals. It uses long memory programmable code type capabilities and error screening to filter out unwanted errors.
Capable of synchronizing up to four MP1800A signal quality analyzer units, only Anritsu supports ultra-high speed transmission test systems configured up to 1 Tbit/s and multi-channel synchronization signals such as Quad DP-16QAM and Dual DP-64QAM.
