Product Description:
Keysight 81491A reference transmitter
The Keysight 81491A reference transmitter is designed to provide excellent eye pattern quality for NRZ and PAM4 signals at baud rates up to 32Gbaud and can be used as a universal E/O converter. It is available in both multimode (MM) and single-mode (SM) types and includes an internal laser at 850nm (MM) or 1310&1550nm (SM). The SM option provides an external optical input for use with a tunable laser source. The integration in the LMS host provides various advanced features such as automatic bias point and power control, remote control via the SCPI language, and more. The LMS mainframe platform also provides seamless integration with various performance and compliance testing solutions, such as optical receiver stress testing. Separation of the signal source and modulator is the only way to provide zero LFM modulation. This is critical for a clean and repeatable eye map when modulated with an appropriate clean external source to meet the requirements of the IEEE standard. Another advantage of this design over the direct modulated transmitter is the wide extinction ratio range that can only be achieved with this design.
Product Features:
Repeatable and reproducible measurements allow for reduced production test margins and improved specification of characterizing equipment.
Reliable measurement ensures the comparability of test results.
Combined with Keysight's optical receiver pressure test solution, it supports full IEEE 802.3 pressure eye test compliance.
The wide extinction range provides the highest test range coverage to ensure the best quality of the test equipment under all target operating conditions.
Dual-wavelength rapid test reconfiguration allows switching between 1310 nm and 1550 nm by remote control or manually, without module replacement.
Scalability extends your optical workbench capabilities by integrating into the industry-standard Keysight LMS platform.
Fast signal calibration and optimization through integration with Keysight automation software
Application
Reference transmitter for compression eye diagram compliance testing according to IEEE 802.3 standard.
