台式光功率计是高精度、宽量程的光功率检测设备。本功率计采用智能化微处理器控制，具有量程自动切换功能，对光探测器PIN管在整个量程范围内进行了分段线性处理，消除了PIN管在同一波长、不同光功率下，对光功率的非线性响应带来的误差，极大的提高了设备检测的准确性和可靠性。
本光功率计采用新的数据采集技术，具有更大的信噪比和更大的动态范围。在小信号时，内部电路采用小电阻加屏蔽技术，因此具有更高的灵敏度，功率显示范围+5~-75。
光功率计用于测量绝对光功率或通过一段光纤的光功率相对损耗。在光纤测量中，光功率计是重负荷常用表。通过测量发射端机或光网络的绝对功率，一台光功率计就能够评价光端设备的性能。用光功率计与稳定光源组合使用，则能够测量连接损耗、检验连续性，并帮助评估光纤链路传输质量。是光纤通信系统研究、开发和生产，以及施工、维护等部门必备的基本测试仪器，也是光器件输出光功率、光纤光缆及光无源器件的理想测量工具。
