Professional maintenance of Fujikura CT-30 Fiber Cleaver, its common faults and cause analysis are as follows
Uneven cutting end face (with bevel/burrs)
Fault cause: The blade is worn or the cutting edge is chipped, failing to achieve sharp cutting; The blade installation position is offset, making the cutting path deviate from the fiber center; The pressure of the fiber pressing mechanism is insufficient, causing the fiber to shift during cutting; The fiber is placed incorrectly, not fully fitting the guide groove.
Maintenance method: Rotate the blade to an unused cutting surface; replace with a tungsten steel blade of the same model if all surfaces are worn; Loosen the blade fixing screws, adjust the blade position to align with the guide groove and re-fix; Check the elasticity of the fiber pressing spring, replace the spring if elasticity is insufficient to ensure no fiber loosening during pressing; Clean debris in the guide groove, slowly push the fiber along the guide groove to the limit position to ensure proper placement.
Fiber easy to break after cutting/cracks on end face
Fault cause: Excessive blade pressure adjustment, causing over-squeezing of the fiber during cutting; Foreign objects (such as fiber debris, dust) in the guide groove, leading to uneven force on the fiber; Abnormal contact angle between the blade and fiber, resulting in non-vertical cutting.
Maintenance method: Reduce the cutting pressure via the device's pressure adjustment knob, debugging with the standard of "able to cut the fiber without cracks on the end face"; Clean the guide groove with a dust-free cotton swab dipped in alcohol to remove foreign objects; Check if the blade holder is deformed, replace the holder if deformed to ensure the blade contacts the fiber at a 90° vertical angle.
Fiber pressing mechanism unable to fix fiber
Fault cause: The rotating shaft of the fiber pressing arm is stuck, unable to press down normally; The fiber pressing pad is aged or worn, reducing friction; The fiber pressing spring is broken or detached, losing pressure support.
Maintenance method: Add a small amount of special lubricating oil to the rotating shaft, gently rotate the fiber pressing arm to restore flexibility; Replace the aged fiber pressing pad to ensure tight fit with the fiber during pressing; Open the device housing, check the status of the fiber pressing spring, replace with a spring of the same specification if broken and re-install.
