Product Description:
N1021B is a handheld probe designed in accordance with ergonomic principles, which enables the connection of TDR/TDT modules (such as 54754A) to printed circuit boards (PCBs) and devices that lack universal coaxial high-frequency connectors. The built-in knob can adjust the spacing between differential probes to ensure good contact with pads or access points. The spacing of these access points ranges from very narrow (0.5 mm) to typical IC pin spacing (2.54 mm).
Engineers working with high-speed differential electronic channels can analyze the locations where the measured component causes reflections and adversely affects the signal integrity (SI) of the design. PCB manufacturers can control the process consistency of each batch of products and determine the locations of short circuits, open circuits, or other defects.
The N1021B probe can be used with the following devices: a) Industrial standard 86100C Infiniium DCA-J wideband oscilloscope host; b) 86100C-202 enhanced impedance and S-parameter software; c) 54754A differential and single-ended TDR-TDT module. The N1021B probe applies a small electronic step signal to the measured component (DUT) and receives its response. The response will be processed and displayed in the time domain or processed and displayed as S parameters (SDD11, SDD22, SDD21, or SDD22). Time-domain measurements can display the voltage of the reflected signal or observe the changes in impedance over time or distance. S-parameter measurements include amplitude, phase, and group delay.
