The Agilent 81949A is a high-power compact tunable laser source, mainly used for characterizing the characteristics of optical devices and measuring nonlinear effects. The Agilent 81949A is one of the compact tunable laser devices in the Keysight 819xxA series. As a single-slot insert module, it can be compatible with Agilent 8163A/B, 8164A/B, and 8166A/B hosts, providing flexible and cost-effective excitation for single-channel and dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) testing applications.

Wide tuning range: The wavelength tuning range is 1520nm - 1630nm, covering the C+L frequency band. The total wavelength coverage range can reach 110nm, enabling the characterization of the tested devices on adjacent frequency bands C+L in a single scan.
High output power: The maximum output power can reach + 13dBm, providing the required excitation power for current optical amplifier testing without the need to add a driving amplifier.
High wavelength accuracy: The absolute wavelength accuracy is ±100pm. The built-in wavelength meter avoids the use of external wavelength monitoring, thereby reducing measurement uncertainty.
