Product Description:
The Agilent 86116C supports advanced component and subsystem designs that require accurate characterization of ultra-high-speed signals. When viewing waveforms in the 10 to 100 Gb/s range, an oscilloscope has three key requirements: well-designed frequency response, wide bandwidth, and very low internal jitter. The 86116C optical and electrical module is one of the fastest solutions for measuring high-speed communication signals. The 86116C has 45 GHz or 70 GHz optical bandwidth and 93 GHz electrical bandwidth, making it the ideal solution for ultra-high-speed waveform analysis when combined with the 86107A precision timebase module. Designers will see the true performance of their equipment, not the aberrations produced by the test equipment.
The unfiltered bandwidth Settings provide the best pulse fidelity mode for measuring and displaying ultra-high speed waveforms and provide a fast full width half maximum (FWHM) of less than 7.4 ps (86116C-041). User-selectable bandwidth Settings reduce noise when observing small signals. The electrical channel has a bandwidth of more than 93 GHz. This produced a system rise time of 3.9 ps. Just as important as the bandwidth is that the channel has a well-controlled frequency response to minimize waveform distortion. User-selectable bandwidth Settings can be used to reduce instrument noise.
