The General Photonics PDL-201 Polarization Dependent Loss Meter utilizes a patented maximum-minimum search method (compliant with TIA/EIA-455-198) to simultaneously measure PDL, insertion loss (IL), and optical power of devices in just 30 milliseconds. Unlike polarization scrambling methods with high uncertainty, this technique systematically searches for maximum and minimum transmittance to ensure measurement accuracy for both high and low PDL values without wavelength calibration, offering superior accuracy compared to Mueller matrix-based methods. Ideal for fast, precise characterization of passive devices, DWDM components, and fiber optic sensors.
