The 871 series laser wavemeter uses a proven Fizeau standard-based design to measure the wavelength of pulsed and continuous lasers operating from 375 nm to 2.5 μm.
Type 871A is the most accurate, measuring wavelengths with an accuracy of ± 0.2 ppm (0.0001 nm at ± 500 nm). For less precise experiments, Type 871B is a less expensive alternative with an accuracy of ± 0.75 ppm (± 0.001 nm at 1500 nm).

The fastest continuous measurement rate
The Fizeau standard of the 871 laser wavemeter produces a spatial interferogram that is detected by a fast photodetector array. The onboard digital signal processor can quickly convert the interference data to wavelength. Since this calculation is done within the instrument, continuous measurement rates of up to 1 kHz can be achieved.
The 871 laser wavemeter can measure the wavelength of each pulse of a laser operating at a repetition rate of ≤ kHz. At higher repetition rates, the system integrates all laser pulses that arrive within the measurement window. In addition, the system's 1 ms temporal resolution provides the most detailed wavelength characterization of tunable lasers and rapid feedback on laser wavelength stabilization.
