Product Description:
The Keysight N7782B series polarization extinction ratio (PER) analyzer is designed to test PER in polarization-maintaining fibers with high speed and accuracy. The polarization measurement principle ensures reliable measurement of PER values up to 50 dB. The real-time measurement function combined with an automated interface makes the device ideal for integration into manufacturing systems, such as pigtail stations for semiconductor laser tubes and planar waveguide components. Provides analog interfaces for integrating systems into control loop applications.
Apply
Semiconductor laser tube PMF pigtail
Real-time display of PER and optical power, enabling alignment of polarization-maintaining fibers during pigtail.
PMF splicing
In order to support alignment in the welding process of polarization-maintaining fiber, the Keysight N7782B can display the optical power and the Angle of the two fibers in real time.
PM component characterization
Measure PER of PM components such as optical fiber polarizers, PMF couplers, and PMF splitters.
Characterization of PMF cross coupling
Measure polarization crosstalk in polarization-maintaining fibers and express it as PER.
PM splicing characterization
Angular misalignment of PM joints can be measured in a non-destructive manner. It is even possible to independently characterize multiple joints in the chain.
Keysight's software packages include drivers for most tunable laser sources commonly used in industry.
Heating/stretching method
The heating/stretching method accurately measures PER at a single wavelength. This method particularly supports the use of narrow band laser sources for measurement. An optional internal laser source allows the system to operate independently.
The Keysight thermal cycling unit N7783B is fully controlled by the N7782B PER analyzer to accurately and repeatably cycle the temperature of the fiber under test. The PER measurement system consisting of N7782B and N7783B shows excellent accuracy and repeatability. Ease of use and automation interfaces, such as an analog output port for active alignment, make it particularly suitable for production environments.
