The 1156A, 1157A, and 1158A series of active probes provide R&D engineers with the performance they need to detect small geometry in hard-to-reach areas on DUTs. These probes are designed for the Infiniium series and the InfiniiVision 5000, 6000 and 7000 series 300 MHz to 1 GHz oscilloscopes.
As design speeds increase, you may notice more overshoot, ringing, and other disturbances when connecting oscilloscope probes. The probe forms a resonant circuit where it is connected to the device. If this resonance is within the bandwidth of the oscilloscope probe you are using, it can be difficult to determine whether the measurement disturbance is caused by your circuit or the probe.
