Product Description:
The 86146B is a grating based spectrum analyzer. OSA uses a dual-channel grating design to achieve high sensitivity and dynamic range at the same time for fast scan times. This is the key to characterizing DWDM components, wideband passive components, and active optical components such as narrowband sources (DFB), wideband sources (FP) and optical amplifiers (EDFA, Raman amplifiers, and SOA). The 86146B is a high-performance benchtop spectrum analyzer with a filter mode that allows the flexibility to discard individual DWDM channels, with fast tuning speeds, low insertion losses, and highly repeatable wavelength accuracy. Another application of the filter mode is to measure time-resolved linear frequency modulation (TRC). When the filter is used in combination with 86100C DCA, the laser can be measured with linear frequency modulation.
Features:
Single wavelength channel voltage drop
Due to its high sensitivity and user-selectable sensitivity (down to -90dBm), the scan time is short
Built-in applications for passive component testing, WDM testing, optical amplifier testing, source testing
Optional built-in wavelength calibrator, white light source, current source, EELED source, multimode input and tunable filter output
