Professional maintenance of mVOA-A2DSM optical attenuator module. The common faults and their causes are as follows:
1. Abnormal attenuation accuracy (the actual attenuation value deviates significantly from the set value): This may be due to the aging of internal attenuation components (such as variable optical attenuation chips), causing attenuation characteristics to drift; or there may be dust or stains in the optical path, increasing additional optical loss and interfering with attenuation accuracy.
2. No data or inaccurate data in power monitoring: The main reason is a fault in the integrated power meter module, such as a decrease in the sensitivity of the photodetector or loss of calibration parameters for the power meter; or the power monitoring optical path is not properly coupled with the attenuation main optical path, resulting in the inability to accurately collect optical power signals.
3. The module cannot be recognized by the host (no response after insertion into the MAP host): This may be due to poor contact at the interface between the module and the host (such as oxidation of the gold fingers or loose slots); or there is a fault in the internal communication circuit of the module (such as damage to the RS-232/GPIB communication chips), preventing the establishment of data interaction with the host.
