Main Features and Technical Specifications
The N7745C is a replacement product for the N7745A optical power meter from National Instruments. It achieves high measurement throughput through in-depth optimization and can be used to characterize multi-port optical components (such as multiplexers, PON splitters, wavelength selection switches (WSS), and ROADM). This instrument has high-speed measurement data acquisition capabilities and a faster data interface, and uses dual-port RAM, allowing for simultaneous measurement and result reading without interrupting the operation. Additionally, its new power range can be switched more quickly, thereby avoiding unnecessary delays during measurement and post-processing. The power threshold triggering function of this instrument now also supports transient measurements.
The N7745C also adopts the trusted N7740 optical connectivity concept, connecting through a snap-lockable four-port adapter. Even when the instrument is measuring other devices, the tested component can be easily connected to the four-port optical adapter. The four-port optical adapter can then be quickly locked, providing a highly precise connection that can be repeatedly connected and disconnected. Using such adapters, you can more easily complete fiber alignment, especially for rack-mounted instruments, and can more easily connect ports in the desired order, avoiding connection errors or connector damage. The four-port adapter supports MU, FC, SC, and LC connectors as well as bare fiber connectors.
