Product Description:
The 4-port N7748C optical power meter offers the highest accuracy and sensitivity in a compact front panel sensor instrument. These are the successors and direct replacements of the N7748A and N7747A, and continue the level of optical performance of the 81634B module. Instrument programming code is compatible with light wave solutions.
Utilizing actively cooled Ingaas detectors and optimized high-performance analog electronics, these instruments provide a minimum level of noise and drift to provide very low and stable zero signal levels. High linearity and low polarization dependence enable peak accuracy beyond the full power range.
The highest sensitivity and the new logarithmic analog voltage output is a powerful combination that can be used in the operation of probes, fiber calibration, and other optimized programs where very weak initial signal levels must be detected and then tracked in real time to increase signal levels by orders of magnitude or more. The voltage across the analog output port of each channel can be configured as a linear or logarithmic representation of the optical power level.
Analog output with linear or logarithmic feedback
The N7748C is equipped with four power sensor channels, each receiving a proven 81000XI connector interface to accommodate common fiber optic connector standards.
Product features:
-110 to +10DbM power range, very low noise and drift
2.5% uncertainty under baseline conditions
The distance linearity of the highest measurement accuracy is less than +0.005db
GII is provided via LAN or USB and no software installation is required
Data acquisition of up to 1 million samples per second and per port
1M sample/port plus 1M memory for a continuous logging port buffer
