PCU-110 is a polarization state generator. The device can generate 6 special polarization states (SOP) on the Poincaré sphere: linear polarization states at 0°, +90°, +45° and –45°, as well as right-handed circle (RCP) and left-handed circle of polarization (LCP) The state of polarization, relative to the axis defined by the internal linear polarizer. Due to the output of single-mode fiber, the actual output polarization state may be rotated, so the exact SOP position on the Poincaré sphere of the polarimeter may be different. However, the resulting 6 polarization states will cover the Poincaré sphere symmetrically with the same angular relationship.
PCU-110 is controlled by software running on an external computer. PCU-110 supports GPIB, LAN and USB as communication methods. The setting methods, features, and differences between each method are as follows. PCU-110 can be used with santec PDL sweep frequency test system. A USB flash drive is included with the system software.
