Product Overview:
The M9018A chassis offers the ultimate in flexibility, compatibility and performance. It has 16 PXIe hybrid slots, allowing the system designer to mix and match the number and location of PXIe and PXI-1 hybrid compatible modules essentially at will. It contains an advanced PCIe switching fabric, runs up to Gen 2, and can be configured for the best performance of most PXIe controllers. The switch fabric can also be configured for peer-to-peer communication, where any peripheral slot can communicate with any other peripheral slot without using a system slot PCIe link. The M9018A is used in combination with the M9021A PCIe cable interface and the M9048A PCIe desktop adapter to achieve the highest system bandwidth.
The M9018A features an innovative cooling design that allows the chassis to accommodate 4U of rack space in most cases. When combined with the latest 1U rack computers, only 5U rack space is needed to build a powerful system. In addition, an optional "air intake" module can be used to provide more cold air from the front of the case.
