The 423 Linear displacement table is a 3-inch square platform with superior performance, availability and value, featuring a precision ball bearing construction - hardened balls roll between opposite pairs of hardened and polished stainless steel rods, thus providing an angular deviation of better than 200 microarc. For stability, repeatability and exceptionally smooth motion, the actuator is supported on a hardened carbide blade. The spring provides a pre-tightening force on the actuator tip to eliminate clearance. Although platforms using SM-25 micrometer drives can move the full 1 inch (25.4 mm), the actuator mounting block can be reconfigured to accommodate 0.5 inch (12.7 mm) drives such as the SM-13. The platform can also be reconfigured as a left-hand version with the micrometer on the opposite side. The no-impact lock (also reversible for left-hand configurations) provides reliable stable positioning and prevents accidental adjustments. Actuators for this platform are sold separately.
