The Keysight 70900B is the main control module for modular spectrum analyzers and monitoring receivers. It is also part of a lightwave signal analyzer. The Keysight 70900B LO has two main functions in the Keysight 70000 spectrum analyzer: as a synthetic local oscillator (LO) and as the master module of the system. As a spectrum analyzer local oscillator, it affects phase noise, stability, and frequency accuracy. The Keysight 70900B gives the analyzer an excellent phase noise performance of -108dBc/Hz at 10kHz carrier offset. The synthesis technique has millihertz resolution and can be used for precise frequency control. The fast tuning speed of the LO is directly related to the tuning speed of the analyzer. As the main control module, the Keysight 70900B determines system characteristics, sub-module control, command processing speed, and GPIB speed.
