Avago's AFCT-57J5APZ optical transceiver supports high-speed serial link wireless base station signal rates on single-mode fiber up to 3.072Gb/s for applications involving OBSAI or CPRI protocols, such as and related applications. The transceiver complies with the use of small form-factor pluggable (SFP) single-source protocols INF-8074 and SFF-8472 for mechanical and electrical specifications and FOCIS/IEC specifications for optical duplex LC connectors. As an enhancement to the traditional SFP interface defined in INF-8074, AFCT-57J5APZ conforms to SFF-8472 (digital diagnostic interface for optical transceivers). Using the 2-wire serial interface defined in SFF8472, the transceiver provides real-time temperature, power supply voltage, laser bias current, laser average output power, and received input power. This information is in addition to the traditional SFP basic data. The digital diagnostic interface also adds to disable the transmitter and monitor the transmitter's fault status and receiver signal loss.
